Lexia Power Up Literacy 

Lexia® PowerUp Literacy™ is designed to help students in grades 6 and above become proficient readers and confident learners. PowerUp helps educators simultaneously address gaps in fundamental literacy skills while helping students build the higher-order skills they need to comprehend, analyze, evaluate, and compare increasingly complex literary and informational texts. Blending online student-driven explicit instruction with offline teacher-delivered lessons and activities, Lexia PowerUp empowers secondary teachers—regardless of their background or expertise in reading—to deliver the exact instruction each student needs to become a proficient reader.

Lexia Core5 Reading

Lexia Core5 reading aligns with the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy, Including foundational skills, literature, informational text, and language 

Lexia® Core5® Reading supports educators in providing differentiated literacy instruction for students of all abilities in grades pre-K–5. Lexia’s research-proven program provides explicit, systematic, personalized learning in the six areas of reading instruction, targeting skill gaps as they emerge, and providing teachers with the data and student-specific resources they need for individual or small-group instruction.


Results

Lexia Results:
In October of 2018, we piloted the Lexia Core5 (for Grades 3-5) and Lexia PowerUp Literacy (for Grades 6-8). We saw the following results over a three-year period:                                                                                                                                                                                 
Compiled Annual Reading Data (Lexia)- 2018-2019 (school year + summer): 69 students enrolled in Lexia over a 10 month period, 80.5% of students met their goals in terms of time and units completed on a weekly basis, and 87% made progress toward grade level reading.        
                                                        
Compiled Annual Reading Data (Lexia)- 2019-2020 (school year + summer): 54 students enrolled over a 7.5 month period, 83% of students met their goals in terms of time and units completed on a weekly basis, and 90% made progress toward grade level reading.

Compiled Annual Reading Data (Lexia)- 2020-2021 (school year + summer): 47 students enrolled, 80% of students met their goals in terms of time and units completed on a weekly basis, and 85% made progress toward grade level reading
